Step-by-Step with Madison J.

I’m a proud UC alumna who loves helping new students pursue and achieve their educational goals. I’ve been able to help many students in the three years I’ve worked in higher education.

Orientation Support:

All students new to our Associate of Science in Public Health program will meet with me during a Welcome Call. During this call, I review the program in-depth, discuss what to expect as a UC Online student, explain how to navigate student systems, go through how to set up a time to meet with their academic advisor, and answer any questions about the enrollment process or the program.

The program also has a self-paced online orientation that gives more program-specific information. The online orientation allows students to familiarize themselves with the online portal and informs them about available resources.

Course Registration:

All new students will have an academic advisor. After their Welcome Call with me, students will set up a time to meet with their academic advisor. On the call, their advisor will go over class specifics, create a graduation plan, and walk through the registration process.

If at any point in the future students have questions or issues registering, I am here to help.

Check-ins:

I check in regularly throughout the semester with my students, reminding them of upcoming deadlines, class registrations, and anything else that has come up in the program.

For students in their first semester, I conduct a midterm check in. On this call I check to see how their semester is going and gather any feedback they may have.

Graduation Support:

We work with students to set a graduation plan that works with their schedule and outside commitments. As life changes, we assist students in adjusting their graduation plan to help them graduate in a timely manner.

Upon completion of the Associate of Science in Public Health program, students will be prepared to enter UC Online’s Bachelor of Science in Public Health program to continue their education.
