Candidates who wish to apply to the Certificate in Principal Licensure program must meet the following requirements.

Prerequisites

  1.  Prerequisite Degree – The applicant must possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  2. Minimum GPA – The applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in an approved Bachelor degree and Master’s degree.
  3. Goal Statement – Goal statement indicating career goals and area of concentration of interest.
  4. Letters of Reference – 3 letters of reference, with at least one from an immediate supervisor that can address the applicant’s formal teaching evaluations.
  5. Current, valid professional teaching license.
  6. A minimum of two years of full time teaching experience with a sanctioned school/district. This excludes time spent as a substitute teacher or time spent as a student teacher.

Transcripts

Applicants must provide official transcripts of all undergraduate work.


Letters of Recommendation

Applicants must have three letters of recommendation, with at least one of which comes from an immediate supervisor that can address the applicant’s formal teaching evaluations.


Teaching License

A current, valid professional teaching license.


Teaching Experience

A minimum of two years of teaching experience (verifiable).


GPA Requirement

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in an approved Bachelor degree and Master’s degree.
