Admissions Requirements

  • CAHIIM-Accredited HIS/HIT Associate Degree (or working to complete)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.6 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • RHIT® credential (or conditional acceptance)*
  • HIM students are required to maintain an active AHIMA® membership. Students without a membership or whose membership has expired must apply/re-apply by the end of the first semester. UC will reimburse eligible HIM students for membership dues/fees (up to $185/year).

* if Associates was earned over 2 years ago, student must attain the RHIT® credential before acceptance; if Associates was earned within the last 2 years, student may be accepted on conditional basis; contact an enrollment services advisor for more information
