She talks about how the flexible learning options led her to choose UC Online, saying, “It’s a great program that offers part-time opportunities for moms like me who have other priorities.” Only having about 8 hours of school work per week gave her the ability to find balance — something that would’ve been challenging for her with a full-time program. The Online Experience Prasad, who understands 6 languages and speaks 4, earned a BE in Instrumentation Technology at JSS Academy of Technical Education near her hometown in Bangalore, India. Comparing her online experience to her time as an undergraduate, she recalls her favorite parts of online learning. “I enjoyed being able to listen to lectures from the comfort of my home. My favorite part is that no one judges you if you attend classes in your pajamas!” Working Together UC Online prioritizes group work in the MBA program, and Apurva recalls her surprise at how easy it was to work with fellow students online. “Group discussions and working on projects in an online environment were not as hard as I thought they’d be, even without meeting team members face-to-face.” Encouraging Words Thinking through her time in the online MBA program, Apurva says she can’t think of anything she would change. But she does have something to say to others thinking of applying and enrolling in the program. “Go for it! Doing something new can be scary but everything that happens on the other side of fear is LIFE!” Professional Impact Apurva took a long break in her career, and she reflects on how she felt about re-entering the workforce after enrolling at UC and how her online education has helped. “I was hired for my current role as a Business Analyst at DMS-VUE because I was enrolled in the MBA program at UC. I’m proud that I had the courage to go back to work after a seven-year break. Even though it was overwhelming at first, now it seems to be a perfect fit for me,” Prasad says. “Learning online taught me how to work online in my current role, which is 100% remote.” With an MBA and certification in Leadership and Management under her belt, Prasad is looking forward to advancement opportunities. Envisioning her future career path, her ultimate long-term goal is more attainable now and her confidence shines through. “I aspire to be in senior management of an organization. I’ll use the experience and knowledge from the MBA curriculum to get there.” Ready to discover the impacts an MBA from UC Online can have on your career? Explore everything our program has to offer.
