As a current student in the UC Blue Ash’ Nursing RN Technology program, you have the opportunity to continue your Bearcat journey at the UC College of Nursing by taking up to four RN to BSN online courses while completing your associate degree. These courses can be taken before you pass the NCLEX and obtain your RN license.

To ensure a seamless transition from the UC Blue Ash’s Nursing RN Technology track program into the College of Nursing RN to BSN online program, we recommend that students prioritize completing the required general education courses as part of their associate degree program:
While completing your RN Technology track associate degree, you can take up to four RN to BSN online as part of your program schema and without having an RN License.
Upon completing the dual-admission courses and graduating from the RN Nursing Technology program, you can enroll directly in the RN to BSN online program without needing to reapply, as you do not need your RN license to enter the program*.

*College of Nursing has removed the RN license requirement of the application. Students must demonstrate proof of RN license before enrolling in NBSN 4068 and NBSN 4081.

While working on your associate degree at UC Blue Ash, you can enroll in the following RN to BSN online courses.
These 3 hour credit courses are offered twice a semester and last for 7 weeks.
This course uses a competency based conceptual framework to provide students with the opportunity to examine the interplay between vulnerability, health status, and health care access and quality. Physical, psychological, demographic, environmental, socioeconomic, and cultural issues influencing the health status of and health care delivery to vulnerable populations are examined. Students will develop essential skills needed to work effectively as members of inter professional teams and explore ways to improve the quality of health care delivery and health outcomes for vulnerable and marginalized groups.
This course focuses on the nurse’s role in utilizing healthcare informatics to improve patient outcomes. It addresses the use of information science and technology to support patient care and provide leadership within healthcare systems. It focuses primarily on the use of information systems to evaluate plans of care, outcomes of care, and healthcare systems to inform patient safety and quality improvement. Ethical, legal, and financial issues surrounding information systems are also discussed.
This course uses a competency-based conceptual framework to emphasize essential concepts necessary to provide quality care for the older adult population. This course focuses on ways to maintain wellness and the nurse’s role in implementation of best practices in the care of the older adult population.
This course uses a competency based conceptual framework to cover current trends, learning theories, and criteria for selection of specific technologies. Students will leverage technology to communicate effectively in a technology-enhanced environment.

Our RN to BSN Online program is flexible with schemas that allow students to complete the program in two semesters (eight months), three semesters (12 months), or five semesters (20 months). Students can switch from full-time to part-time status, as needed.
The RN to BSN Online program does not have prerequisite courses required for admission. Rather, the program includes general education courses that can be taken along with core coursework. Individuals can begin the program without first completing the general education courses; however, it could prolong the time it takes to earn your bachelor’s degree. Note: students must complete statistics before they can take Scientific Basis for Professional Nursing Practice.
