At the end of each term, UC College of Nursing invites it master’s program graduates to complete the Skyfactor Benchworks Survey (previously EBI), a professionally developed and validated assessment used by higher education institutions across the country to measure the quality of students’ experiences. Students answer nearly 150 questions on a Likert Scale ranging from 1 (very poor) to 7 (exceptional), grouped into 24 categories. Answers are then averaged and converted into a percentage score, which are compared to national averages and to a “Select 6” cohort of schools. In the latest survey, the college evaluated student satisfaction for academic year 2018-19 and chose to benchmark our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) scores against a “Select 6” cohort that included five colleges that place in the top 5 of the 2019 U.S. News & World Report Best Nursing Schools: Master’s ranking. Results showed UC College of Nursing MSN student satisfaction ranks first, with scores higher than the “Select 6” averages in all of the 24 categories, overall program effectiveness scores and overall average satisfaction scores respectively 11% and 17% higher than the “Select 6” scores. To add to that, UC College of Nursing’s MSN student satisfaction rate improved from the previous year, with overall student satisfaction rated between “excellent” and “exceptional.” “We’ve always known that the quality of the education provided by UC is outstanding, but we understand that a broad range of factors influence student satisfaction. We’re honored to validate that our overall efforts for a great experience are noticed and valued by our students,” says UC College of Nursing Dean Greer Glazer, RN, CNP, PhD, FAAN.
