Doctorate of Clinical Laboratory Science Admission Timeline

This new program will begin accepting students for the Fall 2025 semester. Additional students will be enrolled during the Fall semester for each academic year. Additional students may be enrolled in spring and summer semesters if positions are available.

Applicants will be notified of their enrollment in the Fall 2025 semester by May 15, 2025, pending their completion of all admission requirements for the program.

Do I Need a Master’s Degree to Apply for UC’s Online DCLS Program?

Students can be accepted into the Doctorate of Clinical Laboratory Science program from both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. Visit the DCLS program’s admission requirements page for the full requirements for both levels.
Will I need to Travel to Fulfill the Residency Requirement?

The University of Cincinnati does not require students in the online Doctorate of Clinical Laboratory Science program to travel for their required residency. The residency is designed to be completed over three semesters and can be partially completed at home and local affiliated sites depending on your location within the U.S.

What laboratory backgrounds qualify for the Master’s in Medical Laboratory Science program?
Professionals from ANY laboratory background can qualify for the Master’s in Medical Laboratory Science Leadership program.

Applicants must have at least ONE of the following:
1. Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Laboratory Technology certification (ASCP, AMT, AABB or equivalent)
2. At least 2-5 years of professional practice as a laboratory science professional or related experience.
