The Master of Science of Nursing in Nursing Education online program prepares students to become clinical educators and nursing faculty members. Graduates of this program are ready to design nursing curriculum, use evaluation strategies effectively, evaluate program outcomes, incorporate new technology into teaching, and design and implement online simulations.
Admission Requirements
- A current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with no disciplinary action
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an ACEN- (formerly NLNAC) or CCNE-accredited nursing school
- In general, at least one year of RN experience at the time of application
- Overall BSN GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (recommended)
- Statistics course with a 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
Graduates of this specialty meet educational requirements to take the National League for Nursing (NLN) examination for certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE). Nurse educators provide education and training for nurses at all levels in both academic and clinical settings. Nurse educators are experts in evidence-based practices and remain up-to-date on the latest ideas and developments in nursing practice.
