All Literacy and Second Language Studies faculty are well-trained in distance learning pedagogies.
Dr. Ying is most passionate about exploring research questions that address the improvement of reading and writing skills of children. Three lines of research have emerged within this area: identification of the malleable factors that are associated with better reading and writing outcomes, development and validation of reading and writing interventions, and development and validation of assessment. My research focuses on supporting children with or at risk for disabilities, which includes those living in poverty, children with disabilities (e.g., children with language impairment/LI), and children from immigrant families (e.g., dual language learners).

In a society in which employment and economic advancement increasingly depend on more developed and specialized skills, the handicap of illiteracy can only grow more severe. Here is why you should receive your MEd LSLS degree with UC online:
You have the option to provide an original copy of scores taken within five years of the date of application. GRE scores are optional for admission to the Master’s degree program but are highly recommended to strengthen applications that may be weak in other areas. For example, applicants with less than a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 should include GRE scores with their application.
To ensure we receive the scores, both the university and the program to which scores are sent should be indicated on the order form. The code for the University of Cincinnati is 1833. You will then be prompted to select the program to which your scores are to be sent.
