A substance abuse counselor works to help people struggling with drug and alcohol addictions learn how to modify their behavior with the goal of full recovery. In some cases the job involves working with individuals in a crisis situation; in others, clients may meet with you regularly throughout their recovery.
Since our bachelor’s degree in counseling is offered completely online, you can earn your degree in as little as two years while balancing demands at home and at work; or you can pace your studies over a four-year timeframe. The program is also transfer-friendly, which means you may be able to transfer credits from previous coursework.

Programs can be completed full-time or part-time. Many programs are set up to be part-time, with most containing fewer than 10 credit hours in any given semester. We know you have a lot going on, so want to make sure that school can fit into your schedule. Note: There are some exceptions.
