Health Information Security Certificate

Students enrolled in the MS in Health Informatics degree program have the option to add the Security Certification for an additional 9 credit hours of elective courses. This security program positions students to take on a wider variety of career opportunities after graduation.

With the security certification, students will have skills and knowledge related to:

·       Detecting threats and vulnerabilities within healthcare systems and         developing mitigation strategies.

·       Evaluating best practices, policies, and legislation related to health         informatics.

·       Developing plans for disaster recovery and continuity in the health         informatics sector.

·       Applying technical and administrative solutions concerning health         information security.

·       Advocating for stronger protections and effective health information security         systems to protect the public trust.
