MSN Family Nurse Practitioner

What is an MSN Family Nurse Practitioner?

Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) are clinicians who blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with an added emphasis on disease prevention and health management. FNPs bring a comprehensive perspective to health care.

The University of Cincinnati’s (UC) Online FNP program prepares nurses to diagnose and manage common and complex medical conditions across the lifespan, from children to the elderly. Our FNP Master of Science in Nursing program is offered by the nationally recognized UC College of Nursing: same degree, same quality education and same support, delivered in a flexible format designed for working nurses.

Specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner can open up new career opportunities and provide more autonomy and high job security, however finding time to complete your MSN degree can be challenging as a full-time RN. The University of Cincinnati Online’s MSN FNP program meets the needs of working nurses, with many of our students choosing to work while completing their degree. Let our clinically practicing and doctorally trained faculty help you take the next step in your nursing career.

The online UC FNP program is designed for BSN-prepared nurses interested in advancing their careers through roles that have a greater impact on patient care, and gaining the knowledge required to become leaders in their field and integral members of their community. Hear from a Graduate
“I spent 21 years in the Air Force as a critical care nurse. Because I was deployed frequently, I couldn’t go back to school in person, so I chose University of Cincinnati Online. I started my MSN when I was living in South Carolina and completed my clinicals while living in Italy. The program was flexible and was well established online.”
