Simplifying the Undergraduate Application Process

Congratulations on making the decision to apply for one of the online programs offered by the University of Cincinnati! We are excited to review your application. Below are a few pointers on topics that may arise as you are completing your application. If you have any questions throughout the application process, do not hesitate to reach out to your Enrollment Service Advisor (ESA). Your ESA will help you through the application process and will answer any questions you may have regarding the program, UC, or the application process.

Financial Aid and FAFSA

It’s important to understand your tuition and financial aid options as you are applying for your program. As you inquire more information on FAFSA, the following information will be useful.

Different FAFSA applications will be available depending on your intended start date. Students need to fill out the form with the academic year that includes their first enrollment term. Academic years run Fall-Summer and will include two years. Example: A student beginning school in Spring 2023 will fill out the 2022-2023 FAFSA form.

*Quick Tip: FASFA school code: 003125

The University of Cincinnati also offers payment plans for qualified students. Learn more about plans that could be available to you by visiting this link.

Transcript Information

The University of Cincinnati requires official transcripts from undergraduate applicants from every school attended for college credit. This includes credits you do not intend on transferring, closed colleges, and schools you briefly enrolled in. If possible, please request to send your college transcripts electronically.

If you have taken fewer than 24 semester college credit hours, or never taken courses for college credit, then you will also need to submit your high school transcript or GED with your application. High school transcripts must be mailed or sent through a verified electronic service, like Parchment.

*Quick tip: Usually, the easiest way to locate your previous college transcripts is to conduct an online search for “(your previous school name here) transcript request.”

Please note that international transcripts must be evaluated from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).

Difference between Unofficial and Official Transcripts

Official Transcripts: Will include a seal, signature of the registrar of that respective school, and information on all your coursework and degree information. Most schools charge a fee to request an official transcript.

Unofficial Transcripts: An online version of your transcript that includes a list of courses you enrolled in at that respective school and the grades for those courses. Unofficial transcripts do not include a seal, signature, or information on your overall degree.

*Quick tip: Official transcripts will come directly from your prior school or schools to UC. If a student opens an official transcript (electronic or hardcopy) and then forwards it to UC, it is no longer official.

Sending in Transcripts

The preferred method to send transcripts to UC is to use one of the following electronic upload services:

Parchment, E-Script/Credentials, National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), Articulation & Transfer Clearinghouse (ATC), SCOIR, Overgrad, and Scribbles.

**If an email address is required by one of these services, please have them sent to [email protected].**

Mail:

Please note, UC cannot accept transcripts sent directly from a student. We are also unable to accept transcripts sent via email or fax, regardless of the sender (e.g., school official).
