From Start to Finish: Accounting Graduation Support

Each student in the Associate of Applied Business in Accounting program at UC Online has access to a student success coordinator who offers support from enrollment to graduation. With the support of student success coordinators and excellent faculty, our accounting alumni have utilized their degrees to transition into a new career in the accounting field or advance their careers in a competitive market. Program: Associate of Applied Business in Accounting

Background:

My background in is elementary education — I have a passion for helping students at all levels pursue and achieve their educational goals. I’ve worked with students of all ages for the past five years as they go on their educational journey. I enjoy being a part of students’ support teams and seeing them succeed.

Orientation Support:

All students new to our Associate of Applied Business in Accounting program will meet with me during a welcome call. During this call, I will review the program in depth, discuss what to expect as a UC Online student, explain how to navigate student systems, go through how to set up a time to meet with their academic advisor, and answer any questions about the enrollment process or the AAB Accounting program.

The program also has a self-paced online orientation that gives more program-specific information, allows students to familiarize themselves with the online portal, and informs them on available resources.

Administration Support:

UC Online has a dedicated staff member for financial aid support. As a student success coordinator, I connect students to our resources in the Student One Stop/Financial Aid Office.

I am always here to answer any questions students have about the program. All staff that work with the Associate of Applied Business in Accounting program are incredibly supportive and willing to answer any questions students have.

Course Registration:

All new students to the Associate of Applied Business in Accounting program have an academic advisor. After their welcome call with me, students will set up a time to meet with their academic advisor. On this call, their advisor will go over class specifics, create a graduation plan, and walk students through the registration process.

If at any point in the future students have questions or issues registering, I am here to help!

Check-ins:

I check in regularly throughout the semester with my students, reminding them of upcoming deadlines, class registrations, and anything else that has come up in the program. I will call new students within their first three to four weeks in the program to see how their semester is going and to gather their feedback. I also check in with upcoming graduates about their experience in the program.

As the student success coordinator for the Associate of Applied Business in Accounting program, I am here to be supportive and assist students in any questions they may have during their time in the program. I encourage students to reach out to me with any questions or concerns at any point during.

Graduation Support:

A graduation plan is created during students’ meeting with their academic advisor, during which an anticipated graduation date is set.

We work with students to set a graduation that works with their schedule and outside commitments. As life changes, we assist students in adjusting their graduation plan to help them to graduate in a timely manner.

Upon completion of the Associate of Applied Business in Accounting degree, students can seamlessly transition into the Bachelor of Technical and Applied Studies (BTAS) program to continue their education. In these cases, I work with students to get them connected to their Enrollment Services Advisor, who walks them through the application process for the BTAS program.
