The Master of Science in Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomics program at the University of Cincinnati Online prepares students for careers in health care research, medical & health service managerial roles, medical affairs, and market access in public and private health systems, the pharmaceutical or medical device industries, health insurance companies, government, and academia. Health outcomes research generates evidence to improve patient care delivery, as well as decision-making in regard to policy discussions for health care reimbursements and priorities.
Students will take courses covering topics including biostatistics, pharmacoepidemiology, Comparative effectiveness research, cost-effectiveness analysis, and decision analytical modeling. Students will also complete a non-thesis capstone project that ties together curricular outcomes from the entire program.
Health Outcomes Research and Pharmacoeconomics blend health economics and outcomes research including real-world data analytics and pharmacoepidemiology to provide evidence-based insights to policymakers for decision-making. These efforts are focused on gathering information that measures and values outcomes of healthcare interventions, as well as the effect of healthcare interventions on patients, care to assist in data-driven decisions. Healthcare administrators and decision-makers can take this data and make decisions that will help to improve the quality of overall healthcare provided to patients.

What is asynchronous online learning? Fully asynchronous courses allow you flexibility in your schedule.
