UC’s Degree Completion Programs: Customize Your Educational Journey

At the University of Cincinnati, we recognize that no two learners are alike. We know you have your own distinct educational journey and career aspirations. To help you reach your goals, we’ve created unique degree completion programs designed to help you wherever you are in your educational journey.

Each of these programs is applicable to numerous professional fields and offers flexible and efficient pathways for you to earn your degree by leveraging your previous educational or workplace experiences. Whether your goal is to expand your education or advance your career, these degree completion programs are designed to provide you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence you need to succeed.

Associate of Individualized Study in Interdisciplinary Studies

The Associate of Individualized Study in Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) is an online degree program that allows you to create your educational pathway based on your unique educational history and career goals. As an associate-level program, students can complete their degree in two years or less, depending upon the number of transferable credits they already have. Working closely with faculty, students develop their curriculum focusing on multiple areas of study, offering both flexibility and maximization of previously earned credits.

Who should consider an Interdisciplinary Studies degree?
  • If you have already earned 40 or fewer college credits but haven’t completed a degree, AIS allows you to use those credits towards completing an associate degree, even if they are in multiple disciplines and from various institutions.
  • If you eventually seek to earn a bachelor’s degree, AIS can be a stepping stone towards a seamless transition into either a Bachelor of Technical or Applied Science or a Bachelor of Professional Studies. After completing AIS, most students can complete these bachelor’s degrees with two additional years of study.
