Faculty: Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science

Erin C Rumpke, MS, MLS (ASCP)cm is the Program Director for the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science program at the University of Cincinnati. Her decades of experience in the field as a practitioner and educator are directly reflected in the program’s longevity and rigorous yet highly engaging curriculum.Erin is dedicated to the field of medical laboratory science. She is an active board member of the ASCLS Ohio chapter and currently serves as Senior Director. Her educational focus is on hematology, immunology, and microbiology. She also holds and maintains certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist through ASCP and is recognized as an Allied Health Instructor by AMT.In her non-teaching time, Erin continues to build her skills as an educator. She is a current PhD candidate in Educational Studies/Instructional Design at University of Cincinnati in addition to her primary full-time focus directing the BS MLS program.Professor Rumpke has been teaching BS Medical Laboratory Science students since 2006. She holds her MS in Molecular Genetics from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and a dual BA/BS degree from Miami University in Microbiology and Clinical Laboratory Science.
