The University of Cincinnati Online is proud to announce new business programs that will be accepting applications soon from the Lindner College of Business including a Master of Science in Finance and a Master of Science in Marketing for those interested in pursuing a career in business. 2 New Masters Degree Offerings within UC Online’s College of Business UC Online is excited to expand our business degree offerings with new online programs in finance and marketing. FINANCE UC Online added a Master of Science in Finance program that is a blend of theoretical and applied knowledge and will enable you to grasp theory and develop the skills to apply financial concepts in real-world situations. The program will provide you with a strong foundation in all areas of finance while allowing you the flexibility to customize the program to meet your career objectives. The program is nationally ranked and financially competitive and our faculty are both world-class researchers and financial industry practitioners. What are the courses of study in Finance? Within the new finance masters program, you’ll select an area of specialization, which enables you to build on the breadth and depth of the curriculum offered. Our strong core curriculum, coupled with the specialization options, provides the flexibility to design a program that enables you to achieve your career objectives within the finance master’s program. The new finance program currently supports the following focus areas: Certified Financial Planner ™ (CFP®) Corporate finance Investments Real estate Risk management To earn a Master of Science in Finance online, you must complete the finance master’s program courses (23 semester credit hours) plus five to six elective hours. Courses in this branch of business include foundations in accounting, data analysis, equity analysis, career management, financial statement analysis, and more. Students who graduate with their Masters Degree in Finance are prepared to take the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA), Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP), and Financial Risk Manager (FRM) examinations. Our program also qualifies as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) designated program. Growing Careers & Average Salaries in Finance Finance careers include working in financial planning, portfolio and wealth management, real estate development, corporate finance, risk management, private equity, equity analyst, and lending. Employment in this field is expected to grow 5 percent from now until 2029, which is faster than the average rate of growth for all occupations due to globalization, a growing economy, and a complex tax and regulatory environment. Those wanting to work as a financial analyst, for example, can expect an average salary of $81,590 with a bachelor’s degree. Expect an increase in average yearly earnings with your master’s degree. MARKETING The University of Cincinnati’s Online Master of Science in Marketing grants students all the benefits of an education from the Lindner College of Business but with the flexibility to fit your busy lifestyle at one of the most affordable tuition rates in the country. The new marketing masters program can be pursued on a full- or part-time basis and can be completed in just one year. What are the courses of study in Marketing? Those wanting to work as an advertising, promotions, or marketing manager, for example, can expect an average salary of $135,900 with a bachelor’s degree.
